Many of these products are manufactured in feed-grade facilities — meaning they are held to lower safety and sanitation standards than the food you buy for your own kitchen. McDuffy breaks from that model entirely. We produce all of our recipes in a facility that meets human food safety standards, and we apply the same quality control protocols used by restaurants and food manufacturers that serve people.

We do this not because it is easy or cheap, but because it is the right way to make dog food. This formulation is not done by our marketing team or a general practitioner — it is performed by a board-certified veterinary nutritionist (DACVN) using professional nutrition software that models complete nutrient profiles down to milligrams per kilocalorie of energy.

AAFCO compliance is verified through two methods: formulation (calculating that the recipe design meets nutrient profiles) and laboratory analysis (testing the finished product to confirm the calculations are accurate). McDuffy uses both. Our recipes are formulated to meet AAFCO profiles and then independently lab-tested to verify the guaranteed analysis. This dual verification gives us — and you — confidence that the nutrition on the label reflects the nutrition in the bag.

Our vegetables — squash, moringa (malunggay), okra, water spinach (kangkong), carrots, broccoli, and sweet potato — are purchased fresh and inspected for quality before entering production.

We do not use ingredients that serve as cheap fillers in lower-quality pet foods. You will not find corn, wheat, soy, artificial preservatives, BHA, BHT, or meat by-products in any McDuffy recipe. Every ingredient is there because it serves a specific nutritional purpose, as determined by our veterinary advisory board. Lab Testing & Guaranteed Nutritional Analysis

We do not ask you to take our word for it. Every McDuffy recipe undergoes independent laboratory testing by an accredited third-party lab. These tests verify the guaranteed analysis printed on our packaging, confirming that the protein, fat, fiber, moisture, and caloric content of the finished product matches our formulation targets.

These values represent the "as fed" basis, meaning the nutrient percentages of the food as it comes out of the bag, including its natural moisture content. Because fresh food contains significantly more moisture than kibble (which is typically 10% moisture), the protein and fat percentages may appear lower at first glance. However, on a dry matter basis — which accounts for the water content — McDuffy's protein and fat levels are comparable to or higher than many premium kibbles.

For context, our Surf & Turf recipe has a dry matter protein content of approximately 55%, and our Farmyard Feast comes in at approximately 68% dry matter protein. These are robust protein levels that reflect the high proportion of real animal protein in every recipe.

Cold Chain Delivery: From Our Kitchen to Your Doorstep

Fresh food demands a fresh delivery system. Unlike kibble, which can sit on a shelf for months, McDuffy is a perishable product that must be kept cold from the moment it is packaged until it reaches your freezer. In Metro Manila's tropical climate, where daytime temperatures regularly exceed 30°C, maintaining the cold chain is not optional — it is essential for food safety.

Here is how our cold chain works:

1. Blast Freezing: After cooking, each bag of McDuffy is blast-frozen to lock in freshness, nutrients, and flavor. Blast freezing is faster than conventional freezing, which means smaller ice crystals form within the food. This preserves the cellular structure of ingredients and results in better texture and nutrient retention when thawed.
2. Insulated Packaging: Orders are packed in insulated bags with gel ice packs designed to maintain freezing temperatures throughout the delivery window. Our packaging is tested for Metro Manila's heat and humidity conditions to ensure food arrives frozen or deeply chilled.
3. Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery: We deliver across Metro Manila — including Makati, BGC, Taguig, Quezon City, Pasig, and Mandaluyong — with delivery windows designed to minimize time in transit. Orders are dispatched from cold storage, not from a room-temperature warehouse.
4. Storage Instructions: Every order includes clear storage and thawing instructions. McDuffy should be stored in the freezer and thawed in the refrigerator before serving. Properly stored, frozen McDuffy maintains its quality for several months.

Every production batch of McDuffy is assigned a unique batch number that allows us to trace the finished product back to the specific ingredients used, the production date and time, the cooking temperatures and durations, and the lab test results for that batch.
